A French Victorian Electrotype Casket : Medieval copySOLD
This French Victorian Electrotype casket is a copy of an 11th century medieval one. The original may have been carved ivory or it could have been a relique. The style of the box is pre-Gothic and so the 11th century is roughly when the original would have been made.
The maker 'A B. Paris' was well known for producing electrotype boxes.
The box is in excellent condition, however it would have originally had a lining on the inside which has unfortunately been removed.
It measures 22.5cm in length, 15cm in width and 9.5 cm in height.
