A Victorian Aesthetic Movement Silver Plate Tray c1880SOLD

This wonderful Aesthetic movement tray is English and circa 1880. It is of lovely quality, the decoration being very beautifully rendered.

As well as the elegant sweeping decoration in the Japanese manner, the tray is galleried, stands on bun feet and features wooden turned handles. The decoration is crisp and precise, and this piece feels substantial without being too heavy.

The tray is approximately 22 inches handle to handle.

The condition of this beautiful silver plate tray is excellent. There is some chipping to the underside of one of the wooden handles as pictured, but this is not viewable when the tray is in use and is not where one would hold the tray.

A beautiful little tray for drinks, or perhaps a tea set in similar style. The quality of the images is so fine that this piece could eaqually be used simply as a presentation or decorative piece.

Type: tray
Function: Teaware
Country: England
