An Early German Silver Box- Nuremberg c1720SOLD

This beautiful Nuremberg box was made circa 1720 and is of lovely quality.

Both delicate and exhuberant, the box is chased all over with very finely rendered Baroque decoration. It is marked underneath with town mark, maker and assay scrape. It has a lovely colour and just the right amount of wear.

The box is 8 x 6.5 x 4.5 cm.

The condition of the box is excellent. There is fine wear to the high points, but the decoration is still very crisp and well renedered. The box has clearly been very well looked after. There is, as one might expect, some uneveness to the base, but it stands flat on the table and doesn't wobble! I believe the pictures are very representative of the condition.

An extremely fine and collectable box, in beautiful condition, and an excellent date.
