A Pair of Regency Georgian Silver Salts by Benjamin Smith
This magnificent pair of Georgian silver salts were made in London 1848 by the renowned Benjamin Smith, who worked alongside Paul Storr for Rundell Bridge and Rundell- the authors of the Regency style in silver, and silversmiths to the Prince Regent.
These wonderful Regency silver salts are both elegant and heavy, of the finest quality. They are fully marked underneath and also marked with lion passant in the wells, which are gilt to protect the silver from the corrosive effects of the salt.
The condition of these beautiful silver salts is very good, but the high points are slightly flattened here and there through use, and them banging against each other. I have pictured these very slight dings, and they do not detract from the overall magnificence of these wonderful pieces of regency silver!
