A Renaissance Style Cellini Claret JugSOLD
This magnificent Victorian Period jug or ewer was made in Germany circa 1880, and is of fabulous quality.
Heavily influenced by the Renaissance silversmiths, this style is often named after the great sculptor and silversmith Benvenuto Cellini; it is known as a Cellini jug. It is made of Rhineland glass and silver plate. The crispness of this decoration is really quite suberb, and the quality throughout is excellent.
It stands 29cm tall.
The jug is in wonderful condition with no damage or repair.
