A Post War Silver and enamel paper knife or letter opener by Gerald BenneySOLD

This letter opener is really quite special. It is made by Gerald Benney, London 1972, and bears his mark, and the mark of his enameller Robert Winter (RVW) on the reverse. It is very Art Deco in style, and of good gauge sterling silver.

English Post War silver is very much in vogue, and Gerald Benney is the undisputed leader in this field. Of all Gerald Benney's silver, the silver with enamel work is by far the most desirable and valuable, and this is a very rare piece.

This Gerald Benney Silver and Enamel Paper knife measures 24cm long. It is in excellent condition. The enamel has wear and scratches commensurate with use, and absolutely nothing disfiguring or that spoils the piece.

A rare piece of Gerald Benney silverware, enamelled by Robert Winter.

Type: letter knife
