An Antique Old Sheffield Plate GobletSOLD

This fine Old Sheffield Plate goblet is in the Neoclassical style, and very fine quality. It was made circa 1800 and is in absolutely wonderful condition. There is no plate loss anywhere, the original seam is in evidence when one breathes on the piece, and the Mercury Gilding (gold plating inside) is flawless. I can only assume that this Old Sheffield Plate goblet has hardly ever been used!

The Old Sheffield Plate goblet bears an original cypher, presumably of the first owner, in the style of the period. The plate is in such good order one immediately suspects re-plating, but this is not the case.
