A Post War silver box hallmarked Glasgow School of ArtSOLD

This unusual silver box is hallmarked Edinburgh 1981, and bears the makers mark of Glasgow School of Art. It's a beautifully designed and very well made piece, crisp and technically adept. The lid is filled with a blue resin like substance, which can be seen from the outside through little windows that have been cut for it.

I do not know if the piece has any specific purpose, but the lid is very heavy and serves as a paperweight. Perhaps it is a jar for the desk, to contain paperclips or other such desk related junk!

The box stands 8cm tall and is 5cm diameter. A fine piece of Post War British Silver by a very talented student of Glasgow School of Art!
