A Russian Trompe L'oeil Silver Salt ThroneSOLD

This Russian silver Salt Throne is a rather rare and special item. Made in Moscow in 1884, it is modeled after a traditional wooden salt box, shaped as a seat, or when ornate as this one, a throne!

This is a beautiful example of Russian Trompe L'oeil Silver.

The inscription is a cyrilic proverb about the eating of bread and salt, I believe, but alas I do not read the cyrilic alphabet, or the Russian Language!

This Russian Silver Salt Throne is in excellent condition with no damage or repair.

Type: Salts
Function: Dining
Country: Russian
