A Victorian Silver letter openerSOLD
This Victorian silver letter opnener was made in London in 1851 by Francis Higgins II. Often these are also referred to as an antique silver paper knife or even an antique silver letter knife. The idea, of course, is the same, whatever one calls it!
This particular silver letter opener is of exceptional quality, silver gilt, with a substantial wrythen handle and elegant leaf and grape motifs.
This is as fine an example of a Victorian Silver Paper Knife, letter knife or letter opener as I have ever seen. It comes in a very high quality fitted box of red leather. An ideal gift for the man who has everything!
