An English Silver Galleon or NefSOLD

This silver ship is a scale model of a 16th century Galleon. It is quite a magnificent object, very finely made with a lot of intricate detail. As you can see it is a four mast vessel with an articulated rudder, and a number of rigs, anchors and flagpoles.
Each plank of wood is a separate piece of silver, all riveted and constructed as the original would have been, not simply hammered up out of sheet silver and engraved to give the impression of wood work!

The sterling silver galleon is hallmarked London 1979, and measures approximately 13 inches long by 12 inches tall. A wonderful example of a model silver ship.

Type: Nef
Function: decorative silver
Country: England
