A Pair of Silver trays by Gerald BenneySOLD
This boxed pair of Gerald Benney Silver trays were made in London 1979, and are of very fine quality. They are also in immaculate condition. Gerald Benney was one of the most important British Silversmiths of the Post War period, and these are excellent examples of his work.
The borders of these Gerald Benney plates features the characteristic "Bark Effect" so synonymous with his work, and copied by many afterwards. When in wonderful condition like this, it catches the light and glitters beautifully.
Each of these trays measures just over 8 1/2 inches in diameter, and come in the box as pictured. Benney had the Royal Warrant, being silversmith to the Queen, and the box is the original retail box, Royal Warrant both on the inside and underside, in gold.
A very fine pair of Post War Silver trays by Gerald Benney.
