A Queen Anne Britannia Standard Silver Tumbler CupSOLD

This beautiful Britannia silver tumbler cup, silver-gilt with gold, was made by Nathaniel Locke in 1701 or 1707. The cup bears Britannia silver standard hallmark which was introduced by a 1697 Parliament's Act and compulsory until 1720. Britannia silver is an alloy silver containing 95.84% silver (cf. Sterling silver contains 92.5%).
