An Arts and Crafts Silver Plated Monteith Bowl by Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild

This impressive example of Arts and Crafts silvered copper is marked DSCG, for the Duchess of Sutherland Cripples Guild. An important part of the British Arts and Crafts movement, the DSCG is renowned for its fine metal work, particularly in copper.

The bowl is in very good condition, but has extensive wear to the silver on the inside and age related wear on the outside as photographed.

It can serve as a beautiful piece for collectors of DSCG silver, or as a fine champagne cooler for up to four bottles.

The bowl stands 23 centimetres (9.1 inches) tall and its diameter measures 32 centimetres (12.6 inches).
