An Austrian Silver and Viennese Enamel Cigarette Case of Hunting Interest

This silver and enamel cigarette case was made in Austria, and the hallmark indicates it was made circa 1900.

The enamel painting on the silver is of excellent quality, has been finely executed with beautiful mellow colours, which are lively and true to nature.

This painted unique bird, called Capercallie, is the largest member of the grouse family. Capercallie is known for being one of the most difficult game bird to hunt, and for possessing feather of remarkable quality.
