A Georgian Gold Mounted Portrait MinatureSOLD

This charming little portrait miniature is mounted in gold (18ct) and is approximately 6cm by 4cm. It dates to circa 1790 and is beautifully painted. There is no signature, and I have no idea of the gold content, so please don't ask! This item is not priced according to the value of the gold! The condition is excellent. The back glass has been lost, and currently replaced with acotate. As you can see it has been in two collections, as the item numbers are attached to the back.

I had this item valued by Christies King St, who indicated an auction value of 500-800 hammer.
