90pc Georg Jensen Sterling Silver Cutlery Set for 12- AcanthusSOLD
This stunning service of Acanthus Pattern flatware by Georg Jensen is really rather magnificent! It all bears the usual Georg Jensen marks for the post 1945 period, and each piece also bears London import marks for 1954. It comprises of twelve place settings of seven pieces each- a dinner and entree knife, a dinner and dessert fork, a table, dessert and tea spoon. There are also a pair of serving spoons, a serving spoon and fork, and a pair of silver handled sauce ladles. 90 pieces in total. The total weight of the flatware excluding the knives and ladles (which are both silver handles but with the typical stainless steel blades/bowls) 91oz.
All pieces are in used but excellent condition showing attractive wear one associates with good old silverware. The tines on the forks are good, the blades are sharp, and this canteen is perfect to use in every respect. My pictures really don't do it justice- it looks magnificent when laid out on the table!
A wonderful and complete canteen by one of the most renowned silversmiths of the 20th century!
